About CONCRETE - STRENGTH OF CONCRETE?

Perhaps the most important property of concrete is its strength. Like any stone, concrete better resists compression than stretching, therefore, as a criterion of strength, consider the ultimate strength of concrete in compression.
Concrete increases its strength as a result of physico-chemical reactions of cement with water, which best pass in a warm and humid atmosphere. The reaction of cement with water ceases when the concrete dries or freezes. Premature drying or freezing of concrete irreparably worsens its structure and properties.

ABOUT CONCRETE - HOMOGENEITY OF CONCRETE?

Concrete must be homogeneous - this is the most important technological requirement. To assess the homogeneity of concrete of this grade, the results of control tests of concrete samples are used for a certain period of time, it is understood that standard samples were hardened under the same conditions at the same time. The strength of concrete samples will fluctuate, deviating from the average value in the larger and smaller side. Strengths are affected by fluctuations in the quality of cement and aggregates, the accuracy of dosing components, the thoroughness of the preparation of the concrete mix and other factors.

About CONCRETE - DENSITY OF CONCRETE?

The density of concrete is the ratio of the weight of concrete to volume (kg / m3). The density of the concrete mix greatly affects the quality and strength of the concrete: the higher the density, the more concrete is stronger. The density of concrete is primarily affected by the presence of pores. Pores in concrete, appear in violation of manufacturing technology or drying. Concrete has pores as a result of: evaporation of excess water that has not reacted with cement upon hardening, with poor mixing of the concrete mix, and, finally, with insufficient amount of cement.
